interlocked and barely broken,
barely dazed

in the quiet of my home I lay,
unable to comprehend the simplicity
of the days which fade

perhaps you are the same,
but instead a lot wiser—overflowing with experience
i have yet to conquer, sitting in the shade

admiration isn’t quite the word which sticks
when you come across my mind,
it’s something more
and I realize it all the time

when we digress the twists and turns of our paths,
it omits a certain resilience,
it hugs you with a certain warmth—in a certain kind of way
