Echo of Nothingness (EON III) Continuation - Page 20 Empty Re: Echo of Nothingness (EON III) Continuation

[Takumi]
"It has been..." Takumi paused, "A while, yes." Too be more accurate, Takumi could not fully recall the last time the two had met outside the fact that they had met before. Running a hand through his pink hair, Takumi shrugged at the question of why he was here, "I was invited by Leios, I figured it'd be a nice change of pace. But, I'm sure you know how it feels to have a lot more on your mind besides sun and fun."

Takumi's frown deepened at the confirmation of things being dire, biting his lip in frustration, "That's what I was afraid of. Fuji is still very much destroyed," Takumi's expression soured more "I founded a refugee camp, which was also later destroyed. And that's, what I wanted to ask you about-" Takumi paused as he watched with concern as Zach had seemed dazed, turning to glance at what Zach had been staring at he spotted Kamilla angrily marching towards the house. Letting out another sigh, Takumi's expression was a mix of confusion and bitterness, "Don't worry about her, she's a...friend" he turned his attention back to Zach as he dismissively waved off the concern "This is supposed to be our break, and I wanted to talk business."

"Zach, I had asked Uncle Zachariah for aid with the camp. However, I noticed that we haven't got what I was hoping for. Naturally, I didn't think anything bad behind it...I knew full well that Uncle would probably be very busy, and that he wouldn't shirk on a promise like that" Takumi paused, a crestfallen expression forming as he looked down "It wouldn't have been too much of a concern, but the refugee camp, everything...it was destroyed a year ago. And now, I learn that Uncle Zachariah has been suffering as well" Takumi gripped his fist in anger, using his other hand to pinch the bridge of his nose "A fool I was to ask for help, not considering Uncle's own problems."

Dropping his hands to his side, Takumi stared hard into Zach "I wouldn't ask something for nothing, Zach. Despite what happened with my mother...WE are still family. And know that, as a representative of fuji, I will do whatever I can to help you and Uncle Zachariah" Takumi placed his hands on Zach's shoulder, a determined smirk forming "You need aught but ask, and I shall be there." Takumi then began looking up at the sky as his hands dropped down to his sides again, "In the meantime, we should be going. I don't like the feeling if this wind at all."

[Cassidy]
Cassidy looked with a frown, she hated this feeling...the feeling of being useless. The same feeling of frustrating confusion, she wanted to help Sahara, but she seemed far too distraught. Would knowing why help? Probably, but Sahara was keen on not letting them understand. All she wanted to do was help, why was it so hard? It was a year ago all over again, the same frustration of not knowing how to help. So sure she knew what it was that she needed to do, before meeting Sahara, Iggy, and Natsumi. After that, she began doudting herself, her choices.

Pulling away, Cassidy hugged herself as the wind began to pick up, looking away with a hurt expression as, once again, Sahara brushed off her friends concern for her. "Come on, Iggy" she began walking away, "She obviously doesn't need us" she took a glance back at Sahara, her gaze turning towards the sky with concern.

Seeing Rohan and Sahara argue like that was pretty rough for Iggy. He grow up with only his mother and little who have been improving their lives thanks to the work Iggy does for Rohan. And seeing some of the people he trusts the most fight like this reminded him of dad mom fighting when he was a lot younger. Plus he took notice of Cassidy’s feelings also being hurt because of this. It wasn’t just a thing between Rohan and Sahara, they were a team and they’ll figure this out together. He slapped his cheeks a few times to get focus and shine with determination “Here Sahara” Iggy offered her a small towel so that she can wipe her tears off. Then reached for her arm, gently tugging inside away from all the drama. If they were gonna talk about it then it would be best for her to sober up at least.

While Iggy took Sahara inside Rohan let out a small sigh and walked over to Cassidy. Resting a hand on her shoulder to gain her attention “She’ll be alright, I’ll make sure of it.” These two started out roughly but he grew to like her company. This past year has been rough but Cassidy made it better “Thank you... I’m thanking you in advance for thanking care of her while i work this out. She can be... uh difficult at times but I’m sure she needs a friend like you at the moment. I’ll stay away till she calms down. Come on let’s go inside.” He said while escorting her inside with the rest, but immediately coming back out to meet with Liss who was talking to the new girl Mina.

Iggy pulled out the comfiest chair he could find for Sahara and made some tea for everyone while they settled down inside. Honestly he thought all of this would fix things up but how naive of him. He surely didn’t understand the type of way Sahara and Rohan were feeling, but he wanted to see them get along once again. “Cassidy I wanted to give you this... earlier when i got hit on the face i started collecting some shells i found around the beach... and i made you this” he pulled out from his pocket a shell bracelet with different types of shiny white shells “they’ll m-match your h-hair” he gave her the bracelet looking as red as a tomato.

“Hey Liss, I’m free now” Rohan called out to Liss from the porch. The wind was definitely getting annoying. Hopefully it would be gone by tomorrow, but now there was something else on his mind. If Sahara felt like that because he was hanging out with Liss... then what would Liss be feeling right now. He didn’t take her for the jealous type but she always surprises him “Hey Mina, hopefully you’re enjoying your time here. Why didn’t you step inside with the rest? Iggy and Cassidy can help you if you need anything. The blond kid about your age and the white hair girl with red eyes” that was the best description he can pull out at them moment.

Echo of Nothingness (EON III) Continuation - Page 20 Empty Re: Echo of Nothingness (EON III) Continuation

The new girl seemed innocent enough. Someone who just happened to be passing through... Lissandra couldn’t help but wonder how so many people had managed that. It was a private beach after all. Yet she certainly wasn’t the only one who’d managed to trespass. Shrugging it aside as the girl answered each of her questions, the arena fighter finally nodded. It wasn’t the most intriguing story she’d ever heard, but the girl seemed nice enough. Just felt a little out of place was all. “Ah, you’re from Frost? Can’t say I’m a fan of the weather there, but I visit of occasion.”
A mail man? Turning as Yuu helped with the introduction, Liss slowly raised an eyebrow. Where had he gotten that idea? She was certain that if the girl were a mail man she would’ve mentioned it... Perhaps she missed that part of the conversation? Deciding to shake it aside, the young woman turned back to the stranger as she asked some questions of her own. “Me? I’m an arena fighter in Kagutsuchi. I’m not sure if news of the sport has spread to FDR yet though. It’s fairly new.” Of all the things she could have said about herself, she’d decided on that because it was something she’d earned. It didn’t take work to be the child of the heroes, that was just luck. However her carrier was a different case entirely.
She opened her mouth to continue on when the wind started picking up. Something about the sudden harsh breeze felt slightly... ominous. Her gaze sharpened as she glanced around the group, looking for any cause of disturbance. Though she paused for a moment when she say the tears streaming down Sahara’s cheeks. Her stomach began to tighten into knots, but she managed to carry on rather quickly.
Sure, she felt slightly guilty. She’d never meant to hurt Sahara, and she could tell that her actions were. However, she also hadn’t actually done anything wrong. She hadn’t expected her to come back-
No, now was not the time for this.
Neither for her guilt, nor her jealousy.
Finally her gaze rested on Yuu. He didn’t look good at all. His complexion seemed a little pale, and his expression twisted. “Hey are you good-?” She started as Rohan finally approached, and cut her off. Causing her emotions to immediately swirl once more. That’s all he had to say to her, after running off to see Sahara? Jealousy was exactly something she was used to handling, however she found herself struggling in this situation. After months of chasing her, it felt like he was willing to drop everything for a chance to get back with Sahara. The girl he cried about breaking his heart for ages. It was just frustrating. On top of that, she didn’t want to have to follow him around waiting for his attention. If she wasn’t a priority that was that. “Good to know. However you should head inside, before the wind gets any worse.” Was all she could manage to say to him, in an attempt to remain completely pokerfaced. A skill she’d honed over the years.
Whatever was coming, it was more important than her feelings. They needed to be cautious.

Echo of Nothingness (EON III) Continuation - Page 20 Empty Re: Echo of Nothingness (EON III) Continuation

Fri Apr 12, 2019 8:43 pm
As soon as he had woken up, Chusin found himself battered by sticks and leaves picked up off the ground by the same wind that knocked him out of the tree. Covering his eyes, he found himself holding them shut unnecessarily long. When they opened up, people were going off to the house on the beach. He probably should get going to safety. But where would that be from here? He looked around; the only shelter was that beach house. Picking himself up and dusting off, he went into a light jog towards it. Clouds were raging above, soon the storm would be worse than some sticks, probably a lot of rain and lightning.

As he neared the house, he tried to remember everyones names. All he knew was on guy was named Yohan, if he was still hanging out with this group. He didn't look like a Yohan though. Watching waves slosh about in the water, he had to worry about the tide soon. He had made a really nice sand pile earlier today, he hoped it wasn't going to get washed away. Coming up to the door, he knocked in an awkward pattern, still feeling a drain on his thinking from earlier in the day. Hopefully they had more drinks, the only way to stave off a hangover was more drinking.

Echo of Nothingness (EON III) Continuation - Page 20 Empty Re: Echo of Nothingness (EON III) Continuation

DannyGirl~ wrote:That night had been probably the best of Natsumi’s life, even despite the challenges. She was over the moon to finally be with Leios, and with every moment that passed she seemed to drift a little higher. Not only was she dating the man she’d loved for literally years, but he was checking every box on her wishlist. It felt like a dream. She was truly terrified that such was actually the case, and at some point she’d wake up. Truthfully, it wouldn’t be the first time. Though this particular scenario had a Rohan melt down believable enough that she had some confidence that she was awake.

Slowly meeting his gaze as he thought over her request, she found a sudden warmth rise to her cheeks as he agreed. That night he had startled her by accepting what was originally a mere tease, to provide her with his full attention. A promise it actually seemed like he’d stand by. It was odd. Back in junior high and high school, Leios always had some big project at the back of his mind when they spoke. She’d become accustomed to that, and expected his mind to always have a second priority within it. However, in that moment, she could sense any shred of attention astray from her. It was riveting. To be adored by someone you adore... She’d never considered how that would feel.

Yet there she was, completely enchanted by it.

She allowed him to lead her without hesitation, before relaxing as his arms wrapped around her. It was pretty regular practice in her life, hugging someone. Heck, she had hugged Leios specifically several times in the past. However, something about adding music, and swaying in place, made her heart pound rapidly against her chest. “I can’t believe this is happening.” She whispered softly under her breath, as her eyes drifted shut. “I’m so happy... Thank you.”

With that, the song ended, and the two were left with a little free time as the other’s gave them some space. Slowly making her way back to the plates, Natsumi once again handed out to Leios before nodding back to the forest. A wide sparkling grin adorned her gentle features, as she silently winked before leading the way.

She wanted time to process this, and talk in private.

On top of that she felt like kissing him a good fifteen more times, without her brother getting involved.

“Over here!” She guided once they reach the forest edge, before leading the way to an old tree fort. Carefully walking up the wooden stairs, the young woman sat down and began to finally eat. “Now it’s just like when we were kids, off on some silly adventure. On the rare occasions I got you out of the lab.” She teased between bites, before slumping against him as he sat beside her.

“And somehow completely different at the same time.”

Pausing a moment as she met his gaze, Natsumi nervously tugged on her hair before continuing. “Do you really l-“ She started only to fall silent as a suddenly gust of wind blew her hair into her mouth, and several stray leaves into her potatoes. Her jaw dropped in protest, though before she could complain the source of said wind appeared.

She was immediately flabbergasted.

“Air guy!” Exclaiming in excitement, the ginger found herself promptly silenced.

“You both need to leave! Everyone needs to leave! Right now!” He forced out through heavy breaths as he fell to his knees. His clothes were torn and battered, his hair completely disheveled. One arm clasped the other, obviously injured, but other than that he appeared unharmed. “No time for questions, I’m faster, but not by much. Everyone needs to spilt up, and pray to whatever god that hasn’t forsaken humanity that their group isn’t the one she finds.”

Dancing with Natsumi felt unbelievably natural, as if he'd danced with her hundreds of times, lost his memories, and was re-experiencing it again for the first time. There was something so fulfilling about the way she looked at him and he couldn't get enough of it. By the time the song had ended everyone else had found their groups so it gave Umi and him a rare opportunity to slip away and eat by themselves.

The food had started to get cold by the time they found a spot to sit but that didn't seem to matter to him at the moment. "Well, while it was rare for me to be convinced to get out... I did enjoy those adventures," a smile adorned his lips, "Maybe it feels different now because we're about to start a new kind of adventure."

Natsumi started to say something else but was cut off by a chilly gust of wind. It sounded like she was about to say- but that thought quickly disappeared as a guy, that somehow seemed faintly familiar and who had to have been around their age, was suddenly right in front of them. Quickly moving between the ragged-looking man and Natsumi he just as quickly became confused when she greeted him with excitement.

"Who are y-" he never got a chance to finish because the man began to almost plead for them to run away. Although Leios wanted to question the logic of this doomsayer and his vague warning, the guy sounded truly desperate. 'She? Forsaken humanity? What is he talking about?' Leios was having trouble anchoring his thoughts but certain images began to click into place. One after the other, images flashed through his mind of the events from a year ago. Jove and August's first appearance in front of his house, the Warlords and a barrier of wind before the earthy destruction of the mansion. An odd sensation grasped his soul and held on tight as icy blood ran through his veins. Danger alarms began to ring throughout his mind like they never had before. "Run? Run from- FROM WHAT!? I don't understand!" Clouds formed in his mind as he tried to get himself to think logically but the desperation of air guy had infected him too.

"W-w-we have to go then!" It had become a matter of survival the first thought that managed to surface from his mind in turmoil was that above all he didn't want to let Natsumi be torn away from him after everything that had just happened. "Why now, of all literal f*cking times!? This goes beyond unlucky- f*ck there's no time for this." This helplessness from an unknown terror coming their way resounded deeply inside his psyche. His search for knowledge from his very beginning was driven by the desire to rid this sensation from the entirety of his being. He needed information, even the smallest amount to gain his bearings, because the unknown was perhaps his greatest fear.

He grabbed Natsumi's wrist was about to run but waited for a moment longer and glanced at the messenger. A short-lived moment of calmness washed over him, "Are you going to be able to survive? Come with us if you need to-". Leios remembered the stranger's words, 'he said that everyone needs to split up, and pray to whatever god tat hasn't forsaken humanity that their group isn't the one she finds. So is it safer that he doesn't come along... but he's being chased so he'd be safer in a group.' Leios looked back at the man and was about to speak before having another revelation, '...why did he warn us specifically? We're being attacked... us... he said everyone...' His moment of calmness instantly evaporated, "LISS! No, No, NO NO NO! TAKUMI, KAMILA!" He turned to air guy and Natsumi, the fear evident on his face, "We need to find my sister and friends! We need to warn everyone else!"

Leios let go of Natusmi's wrist and instead picked her up bridal style, and began to sprint down the hilly forest towards the beach house. 'Not fast enough!' He slammed his foot into the ground and a spring of oil gushed from the point of contact all the way down the hill, allowing them to slide down at much greater speeds than his running. "Umi, we-we'll survive this. I'm not letting this be our end, there's so much more I want from us!" They were almost there and he could see that mostly everyone had gone inside and the ones who remained outside seemed to have the same idea. Almost there. He glanced towards the Ocean and glanced back at the rest of Kagutsuchi. They still had no idea where this danger would come from. Leios' blood started to move again when he saw Liss and Takumi and Kamila, they were fine. But when he saw his friends another image suddenly popped into his mind, it was of him waking up and seeing Kamila bandage him up and then leaving the tent and meeting Takumi in the refugee camp. 'Why am I remembering this now? That was when Fuji was destr- It CAN'T be. Kagutsuchi isn't going to be...' The new possible answer to his question filled him with an exceptional amount of terror and worry for his family, "Mom... Dad..." he managed to croak out. Somehow this revelation allowed him to partially take back control of his nerves, maybe it was that he now knew the worst case scenario so if he prepared for that any better scenario could be survivable.

His sister and friends were right in front of him now as his oil path came to a stop and he let Natsumi down. "We need to RUN, ALL OF US. Liss, Takumi, Kamila, there's something coming and there's an air guy and I don't say this often but I think we're going to die if we don't leave now. I don't- I don't know anything else, just please, time isn't on our side."

Echo of Nothingness (EON III) Continuation - Page 20 Empty Re: Echo of Nothingness (EON III) Continuation

Wed Apr 17, 2019 10:01 pm
Natsumi was left speechless. Any attempt to calm the two before her was immediately caught in her throat. She felt as if she were choking. A cold sweat slide down her brow, as her dull gaze focused in on her mentor. After seeing Orion in action, she knew that whoever managed to hurt him was far superior to any of them in skill. He was an absolute powerhouse. Someone to hold his own against August in a spar... And that was terrifying. So whatever had shaken him, was not something she wanted to face.
Luckily Leios managed to remain a bit more levelheaded, at least at first. He was able to ask all the questions she had wanted too. All while standing in front of her protectively. It was hard to believe they had ever been apart. Though now wasn’t the time to dwell on that. Leios has the right idea. Maybe if they knew who was coming they could make a strategy! He was brilliant, surely that meant more in the long run then sheer power!
Or they could leave.
Immediately.
Offering a supportive nod to his new plan, Umi was ready to sprint away without a second thought... That was until her boyfriend began to melt down.
She’d never heard him curse so many times in one day. First with Rohan, and again now that he was stressed. Not that anyone could blame him in this circumstance. It was just hard to not picture Liss having the same reaction in this situation. The two had a lot more in common than she realized.
“L-Leios...” As desperately as she wanted to comfort him, Natsumi simply couldn’t find the right words. What could she possibly say to help him relax? She knew as little as he did in this situation. If it weren’t for air guy, none of them would’ve had a clue that danger was just around the corner. They were left completely in the dark.
Her eyes widened as he swiftly grabbed her wrist, and began to make a break for it. Though she was even more surprised when he briefly halted once more. For a moment he seemed completely calm, and collected. As if he had been able to properly digest the situation in a matter of moments. Which in turn allowed him to provide support for her injured mentor.
Which she found to be wildly attractive, despite the inappropriate timing.
Oh, right! “Wait, I can heal you-!” She offered softly, Leios’ calm allowing her to temporarily format a sentence. Something that passed rather quickly.
“There’s no time. I’ll be fine. Just get out of here!” Orion warned sternly, his breath already beginning to even out. It seemed that he was rather used to pushing his limits. “I’m not a target. Should we meet again, you would be wise to be wary of my approach. I can’t guarantee I’ll always have your best interest in mind.”
What did that even mean? Why would he say something like that? He was her mentor after all-.
Flinching as Leios suddenly screamed for his sister, followed by his friends, the young woman’s complexion flushed as he suddenly reached down. Before she could process what had happened, Umi found herself darting forward at an alarming speed. All while Leios carried her in his arms. Under any other circumstances, she would’ve been elated. However this particular timing was unfortunate. All she wanted was to enjoy her first day in her new relationship.
Fate clearly had other plans.
“On it.” In a rapid burst of air, Orion zipped directly into the beach house. Swiftly opening each and every door inside the home to ensure he didn’t miss anyone, as he seemed to vanish and reappear randomly around the house. “Everyone out! You have to get out of Kagutsuchi, now! Get moving!”
Focusing back in on Leios as he began to comfort her, Natsumi’s eyes began to water. He had no idea. This was all she’d ever wanted. The chance to make things work. She couldn’t bare to loose that opportunity now either. It meant more to her than her own life. Living without Leios was something that she couldn’t bare to do ever again. Not now. She just got him back. Taking in a deep breath, her scarlet hair blew back behind them as he blasted them down the hill. “... I believe you. There’s so much more I want too.”
She clung to him desperately as they finally came to a stop, before managing to pull herself together. At least enough so to speak once more. Glancing up as Leios set her down, Umi slowly released him before nodding along with his warning. “Leios is right, we have to go! Rohan let’s get to the car! That’ll be faster than running right? Air guy said to split up, but I think it’s best to stay together for now! At least us siblings should!” She realized that she was beginning to ramble so she cut herself off.
Panicking wasn’t going to help them right now.
Even though it was impossible not too, she should at least try to keep it in check.
***

Lissandra has never seen Leios so panicked in her entire life. As he came bursting down the hill, with Natsumi in his arms no less, a chill ran down her spine. Something was coming. Something much bigger than a typical storm. Though to be honest, she hadn’t expected to be as bad as it was. Once Leios reached them, and began to stamper, the color slowly drained from her face. Air guy? He didn’t mean-? “Orion.” She realized after hearing his screaming inside the house. This was bad. A step beyond bad. Orion was strong enough to be tasked with keeping an eye on August. If he’d come all the way out here to personally warn them...
Deciding to forgive Rohan this once, Liss reached for his hand out of instinct. A deep fear shining within her gaze. They could be facing a literal god. “We need to go!” She yelled desperately, before nodding to Natsumi’s idea. That gave her an idea. “If we get everyone in the car, Leios and I can both sink the car down into its shadow. We can work together to transport us all as far away as possible... Though I’m not sure how far we’ll make it exactly. That’s a lot of people... Together we might make it out of Kagutsuchi though.” Looking back to nod to Leios, Liss tugged Rohan towards the car as she took off in a sprint. “Everyone to the car! Now!” She screamed as loud as she possibly could while passing the house. They had to reach it first and unlock it. Then they could drive it over to meet everyone else, who could then climb in... But they had to be fast.
A slight static began to fill the air, as lightning sparked brightly in the distance. She had a feeling that they didn’t want to be here when it reached the beach.

Echo of Nothingness (EON III) Continuation - Page 20 Empty Re: Echo of Nothingness (EON III) Continuation

Wed Apr 17, 2019 10:35 pm
Great by the looks of it and the tone of her voice she was really mad at him... which meant some scolding later that night. He was great at talking his way out of things among other things, so talking about this situation shouldn’t be too hard. He turn to the side to finally notice yuu... had he been there all this time? He can’t remember seeing him when he approached Liss a few seconds ago. Well whatever they don’t really talk much so it wasn’t too awkward “Liss i know that you’re mad, but you have to hear me out” he said walking closer to Liss but stopping once he heard leios screaming. What in the world was going on? This is the first time Rohan has witnessed leios being this scared. He always had an image of Leios being too cocky for his own good and challenging Rohan... that was their whole rivalry. Ever since they met leios was so talented, why wouldn’t he be? He was the son of Kios and danyell... natsumi always talked about how smart and strong he was. How talented he was, that made Rohan think a lot about himself. All of his sisters were extremely talented and then there was him... to prove himself he worked harder than anyone he knew. In his mind his was talentless and only by working hard for the things he wanted was the only way to achieve them. That’s why he disliked leios so much, and to see him afraid like this, to see him wanting to run away broke Rohan for a few minutes. He did not listen to a single word Natsumi had said, he didn’t even feel Liss grabbing his hand and pulling him to the car. Everything was just white noise to him. The moment he came back he stopped in his tracks and shook his head “wait what’s going? Why are you all so scared about? There’s no way we’re running away... well at least I’m not running away. That’s just not how i do things.” The thunder was really close to them but that was just part of the storm, he had no ideas why leios, natsumi and Liss were so freaked out. What was coming? A new enemy perhaps?

Echo of Nothingness (EON III) Continuation - Page 20 Empty Re: Echo of Nothingness (EON III) Continuation

Wed Apr 17, 2019 11:02 pm
To her surprise, Lissandra had only just made it passed the house when Rohan suddenly halted. A movement strong enough to force her to stop as well. She could tell he was in shock by how quiet he’d been through the whole discussion. He was clearly shaken after seeing Leios in his current state. However this was not an appropriate time to freak out-!
Pausing as he suddenly began to carry on in his usual manner, the young woman’s eyes slowly widened. What did he even mean? He was there through the entire conversation! He knew d*** well why they were running! Didn’t he? Had he really tuned out everything Leios had said? Could he really be so arrogant, and brash-?
Finally snapping as he calmly decided that he wasn’t coming, her hand seemed to move on it’s own. Before she could stop herself a bright red hand print stained Rohan’s cheek, as tears flooded down her own. “That’s enough! This isn’t a game Rohan! We aren’t all pieces you can choose to use and discard of as you please!” Now that she’d started, she couldn’t stop. “You may not give a f*** about me, but I care about you! I’m so tired of your excuses! Pick her if you want, but get your a** in the car right now! I’m not loosing you here! Especially not because of your pride! Do you hear me?”
“What’s coming isn’t a battle, it’s a massacre! So cut the bulls***, and follow the plan! Or I’ll knock you out, and force you too!”

Echo of Nothingness (EON III) Continuation - Page 20 Empty Re: Echo of Nothingness (EON III) Continuation

Thu Apr 18, 2019 2:25 am
Turning in shock as people began to run around the house, screaming and crying and panicking, Chusin ducked to the side and tried to hide. He'd done something wrong, or at least something wrong was going on. He didn't know what to do, the wind was getting worse, and rolling thunder was smashing against his ears. The weather wasn't all that was scaring him, though. Something heavy was weighing down on his body, it felt like as the storm grew the pressure on him did too. He'd have to find out what that was soon, maybe it was just nerves, or something else.

Hearing someone yelling from inside, instructing everyone to run, slamming open doors and blowing wind all over the house, Chusin got up and ran in the direction he saw others moving. They were all moving, for the most part, but suddenly a pair of them stopped, breaking into shouting and false bravery. Not wanting to stop, and not wanting them to remain still, he charged his hand up with energy, zapping the boy who was just slapped in the face in his foot. Hopefully that got them moving.

Rohan was finally hearing someone inside the house yelling that same things leios was, who the hell was he? He was about to turn around to catch a quick glimpse of mysterious guy but was stopped by Liss suddenly slapping him and leaving a red mark on his face. He stood in silence as she went on about how he didn’t care and other things. That wasn’t true... Rohan cared for everyone here... Some more than others but if Liss was worried then he’ll trust her and do what says. Out of the people here, Liss was one of few that Rohan trusted the most. He flinched from being zapped on the foot by one of the crashers “hey what the... It was nothing calm down” he said to himself before taking a deep breath. “Hey uh... Chusin go get everyone out while i bring the car” turning back to Liss to meet her gaze and gave her a small nod “Alright, i trust you with my life so we’ll do it your way this time.” He said before cupping her cheeks and wiping her tears “i do ‘give a f@ck about you’, so stop thinking that i don’t. Let’s calm down and we’ll have a talk when things calm down, but i still have no idea of who you guys are referring to... let’s go get the car” he reached for her hand to lead the way to the other side of house where the car was parked. He quickly drove around and positioned it so that everyone could just hop on the trucks trunk “Natsumi, leios... inside with me and Liss” he yelled out for his sister and rival. Hopefully they can fill him on the questions he had about this whole situation “so who are we running away from? I still have no idea why everyone is so scared.”

"I have finally made it , I am home again" Said Ela with a smile , after her adventuring and earning money she was finally going home. Ela cracked her knuckles , she wondered how big Ryba and Zima have gotten , how much everything has changed. Would they even recognize her without her long green hair .... she took a pit stop before actually heading to her home . After all with the bruises and cuts she had and how her arms were so cut up she didn't want to worry her mother. She stopped at a bench and wrapped up both arms carefully in bandages ,she soon finished and stood up. She began to walk to her home , it was even smaller then she remembered. She carefully opened the door and realized it was falling off of its hinges .... wow this place was a wreck " Mom? Ryba? Zima?" she asked more cautiously , she was tackled by a small green blur and then another one .

" BIG SIS " screeched Ryba happily , Zima was happy to see her older sister again and hugged her , she signed 'Hi missed you sis'
Ela picked up both of her siblings , despite them being not that much younger then her they were quite smaller , her mom came into the room and starred at her with a intense look
" Do not tell me you were out there for so long fighting for money" Her mother scolded her quite a bit .
A hour later Ela had decided to head out again , she heard another councilmen of nil had died , she needed to see how her hometown was doing , first things first checking the prices of the market for inflation, then checking the civilian areas as to make sure there was no full blown destruction and chaos yet.

She had finally began her way to the market , if the prices arent to hight yet she would go and buy stuff in stock for her family and look for new hinges for the door.

Echo of Nothingness (EON III) Continuation - Page 20 Empty Re: Echo of Nothingness (EON III) Continuation

[Cassidy]
As Cassidy started to walk off with Iggy, Rohan stopped her abruptly. Turning to see what he had to say, her eyes widened slightly in shock at his words. After letting him speak, she couldn't help but chuckle a bit "Haha! the Great Rohan Yosenju can saying thank you? This IS a dire situation" She gave a sad smile as she walked with him and Iggy back to the house, "Don't worry. You don't need to tell me to watch out for her, she's my beloved friend as well."

*After being escorted in*
Sitting down, Cassidy let out an exhausted sigh as she tried to relax after all of the drama recently. The storm wasn’t help matters either, back when she was little storms were terrifying. Thankfully she had Alex, and eventually Eve, to help comfort her. But here she was, no brother or mother to comfort her, and she was worried she couldn't help Sahara like this. 'I feel so useless...' Cassidy pinched her nose in frustration, but she was pulled from her thoughts as Iggy approached her. Cassidy sat in silence as he offered her a seashell bracelet, fidgeting slightly in place as he did so. Slowly, a smile began to form as she reached out and took it. Examining the bracelet, Cassidy recalled the handkerchief he had offered her that year ago. Even back then, when they had first met he had been kind to her. Wiping a tear that had been rolling down her cheek, she slipped the bracelet on with a smile, "It's beautiful, Iggy" reaching back out she pulled Iggy into a hug as she squeezed tightly, "thank you, I really mean it. Things have been rough, but even still your a kind boy" she smiled looking down at her new accessory. Looking back up, Cassidy quickly kissed her hand before gently pressing her hand to his cheek, "We'll need to be there for Sahara. Think you can help with that?"

[Yuu]
"God, it feels like my bloods on fire!" Yuu snarled as he looked out towards the storm clouds. His body was shaking, with fear? Anger? Anticipation? Yuu couldn't properly describe it, and he had a sickening filling as he realized he probably didn't want to be able to understand it.

Looking up he watched as Leios and Umi began running up to them, their expressions of fear, and uncertainty startled him. At the moment, his instinctive desire to protect overcame the pain welling up in him. "Oy, oy! Are you two okay!" Still shaky, Yuu cocked a brow at their panicked "Wha- run? Air guy? Leios you know I'm kind of slow-" Yuu choked up at Leios mentioning the feeling of death "...Crap, I know! I felt it too." If this whole situation wasn't enough, Rohan was also causing a scene, seemingly unable to grasp the situation. eye started to twitch Clicking his tongue, he decided to just worry about everyone's safety over understanding the situation, which caused Liss to get pissed off and slap him. Yuu winced as he watched it happen, seeing how Lissandra was more than capable of tossing Yuu, he could only imagine how hard she could slap. "To the car it is!" He began as he hastily made his way to Mina, taking her hand to lead her to the truck, seeing how she didn't arrive with the group "Sorry about all this Mina" he tried to joke through his shaky tone "I'm just as confused as you probably, but it's best to just do as they say. Probably."

[Takumi]
Takumi's head snapped towards Leios as he began screaming to him and Kamilla, "What the hell is going on now? It never ends with this gro-" Takumi froze up as he felt an overwhelmingly ominous wind bellow across the land, thunder ripping through the air. In that moment, Takumi bent over as he began to wretch, a sharp pain tearing through his head.

A flood of memories overcoming him as he recalled the carnage he awoke to the day after Fuji's destruction. The rubble of his home, the corpses of his friends, the loss of everything. "S***! Kamilla!" Takumi gasped falling to his to his knees, a trickle of blood flowing from his nose as the flashes kept coming without end. The battle with that masked freak, the destruction of his camp he had built with the survivors. "Dammit it all!" Takumi forced himself up as he quickly ran to get Kamilla "Not again! I'm not dying, or letting anyone else important to me die again!"

Echo of Nothingness (EON III) Continuation - Page 20 Empty Re: Echo of Nothingness (EON III) Continuation

Sat Apr 20, 2019 6:58 pm
Zachariah Fahlih the First took a sharp intake of breath. He lay in his bed, as he had been often for the last few months, resting his easily fatigued bones. His eyes traced the elaborate pattern woven into the drapery above his bed, the frame was carved stone, the mattress full of feathers. He tossed to the right side of the bed, then again to the left, then he stare at the ceiling again for a long while.

"I'm forty-one years old why must I take naps like a child." He muttered under his breath, swiping one of his pillows and holding it close to his chest. With much distaste he sat up, reaching for his nightstand. Several fancy glasses and stone mugs cluttered the beside table, some empty, some half full of water or an amber fluid.

Zachariah found it easier to keep the Lady away with the helps of drink. Perhaps she was afraid of moisture.

He laughed at the idea.

He got his hands on one of the glasses, a fine example of one of Nil's greatest mercantile exports. Glass working was a popular field in Nil, the bountiful sands, once purified, made an illustrious blue color. And so Zachariah drank the remaining water from a cobalt blue glass, the imagery of sea life etched among them. A freshness washed over his mind and he took the opportunity to stand. He had been laying down for sometime, so he stood shakily at first, gripping one of the bedposts for support. But he soon he was making his way across the room, with the help of a wooden cane.

The councilman stood before his window, in this room he had grown up in. After he'd been the only resident at the Fahlih ancestral home he had taken up in his parent's old room. But as of late, after the news about his sister, Zachariah had moved into one of the smaller rooms on the second floor. It had once been he and his sisters, he remembered her most vividly from their teen years, sitting in the window reading a book. She would let him braid her hair while she read and he would complain about the traing their uncle had subjected him too. The training of nephews by uncles seemed to be a reigning tradition.

And so he looked out the window, the view of the courtyard below indicating to him it was reaching the late evening hours in the streets of Ryujin, the lanterns above dimmed in the evening hours, washing the underground in a hazy pseudo-night he found comforting due to his nostalgia but in his heart he still found it wrong.
He remembered the war with Jove, the strenuous fighting, and the emotional toll has he continued to lose members of his squadron. At the time they had been his closest friends, for he feared that his sister had been dead at that time as well.

"Maybe she will surprise me again." He pondered aloud, but there was little amusement in his voice as he traced the seat of the window with his finger tips.

Though he had suffered greatly in that time he also considered it to be the most beautiful time in his life. Every night he would see the sun set and each morning it would rise.

He remembered it fondly as he stared out the window. But then a motion below caught his eye.

Three people strolled through the courtyard towards his front door. The tallest was a man, young and olive of complexion, he sauntered with an arrogance in his step, his dark curly hair was styled fashionably. Beside him was a small dark skinned woman, she took quick strides to keep pace with the man and her curly hair bounced with each stride. Leading them was a poised woman, lighter in complexion than the other two with hair black as night. She strode up the courtyard with purpose, but cast a glance up to were Zachariah stood in the window. They shared a split moment of eye contact and the woman smiled before continuing towards the front door.

Zachariah felt an familiar tingle in the back of his mind, the creeping fingers of the Lady plucking at his harrowed mindscape. With shaky, panicked hands he downed the rest of the glass in his hand but in his haste he dropped it to the floor and it shattered. Zachariah cursed aloud, stepping over the blue fragments and hastily making his way to the nightstand. This time he reached for a glass a quarter full of an amber liquid, he knocked it back in one gulp and shook his head, leaning heavily on his cane. He breathed raggedly a moment and then a knock on the front door resounded through the Fahlih ancestral home.

Zachariah scowled and let the empty glass fall onto the feathered mattress. There are a series of sharp clacks on the smooth stone floors as he makes his way down the hall. An elderly woman approaches him, dressed in simple attire.

"Councilman Fahlih, there are people here to see you-"

"Yes yes, Meredith, I saw them from my window, I was just coming to greet them-" His cane was soft against the lush carpet of the hallway and Meredith frowned.

"Are you sure I shouldn't send them away, you look like you need more rest- should I call for your nephew? Or maybe Mrs. Yosenju-"

"Not necessary Meredith, I will welcome our guests, they are the first I've had in a while that used the front door." He cracked a weak smile but Meredith only frowned deeper.

"Councilman Fahlih-"

"Meredith. Let me do this." He pleaded and the old woman softened immediatley. "They're just guests." The maid huffed.

"I will be in the kitchen if you need me, call for a scotch if you want me to shoo them away."

"Yes ma'am." Meredith nodded and continued down the hall. Zachariah continued slowly to the foyer.

Echo of Nothingness (EON III) Continuation - Page 20 Empty Re: Echo of Nothingness (EON III) Continuation

Sun Apr 21, 2019 8:36 pm
Against the speckled blackness of the night, three bright stars shone the brightest. Mina wondered, how far apart they actually must have been, as they floated about in the cosmos. She had an especially difficult time mapping anything together, let alone the stars. However, because of the unique positioning of them, she was almost certain she had finally found a constellation.
A fighter?—her mind snapped back to the world before her—Ms. Lissandra’s occupation had seemed to suit her mannerisms quite nicely.
However, there was still a shroud of mysteriousness that lingered around the young woman’s aura. In fact, that appeared to go for everyone situated at the island.
It had seemed a panic was slowly festering in Kagusutchi, and if it wasn’t obvious through the facial expressions of her peers, the beach was radiating dread.
Ms. Lissandra had made her way towards the others, rightfully concerned about their safety.
It was almost as if Mina had missed some kind of memo, and it was almost comical—how the series of events in her world, begun to unfold.
Maybe, she wasn’t destined to find the final letter after all—but she was slowly starting to feel alright at the fact.
Mina forced the thought to quickly dissipate, and she decided to focus on the events unraveling before her.
It truly hadn’t seemed as if there was anything more than a storm, but by instinct, Mina inched closer towards the door of the beach house, and watched for possible queues.

With a heavy sigh, Mina desperately tried to grasp the situation.
However, her calm nature quickly became interrupted by the sudden appearance of a young man. If his unsolicited arrival wasn’t shocking enough, his voice boomed—as he verified the danger of remaining in the island, loudly.
On queue, Mina shrieked as she stumbled aback. “Good god!”
She took a deep breath, and exhaled as an attempt to regain her composure.
As she was coming to, she gawked in his direction trying to process his words.
“An evacuation? What’s happening?”
As she awaited for his response, she realized she had completely missed the fact that he was sufficiently injured—and that he was also quite attractive.
Mina wasn’t typically the type to be so shallow, that she’d be enticed by appearance, however she hadn’t ever seen a man with red eyes before, and in a way, it was intimidatingly attractive. It sort of reminded her of Natsumi’s hair, when she’d first met her.
Mina diverted her gaze, when she realized she’d been staring for too long.
And instantly, she realized, was this situation a lot more dangerous than she’d thought?
Mina brought a fist up to her lips as she tried to piece it together.
“Say we’re not gonna die are we?”
Death—so suddenly? She’d just managed to escape Frost Devil’s, was that an actual possibility? It seemed surreal.
In fact, so surreal that she didn’t want to think about it, and so she made the executive decision to make light of the situation.
She looked over to the man, while chuckling to herself.
“If we are, you might as well escort us in style—you know how the guys do it shirtless in those soap operas.”
Very quickly however, she noticed Yuu rapidly coming her way. Putting two and two together, Mina realized for good, that Kagusutchi was no longer safe.
Taking one last opportunity, Mina glanced at the young man with a smile “Looks like its time to go, the names Mina.”
As she was finally approached, her attention quickly fixated on Yuu’s expression as he grabbed her arm.
He didn’t look too well—which was completely reasonable given the situation. However, even through his attempt in comforting words, she noticed his unease. “It’s no big deal, are you okay though?”
Mina slightly furrowed her brows, as they ran.
What was happening, that even Yuu wasn’t aware of?

Echo of Nothingness (EON III) Continuation - Page 20 Empty Re: Echo of Nothingness (EON III) Continuation

Mon Apr 22, 2019 10:42 am
Zach gaze returned to Takumi who continued to explain, his brow furrowing. It made sense that the promise would fall through, his uncle barely left the estate these days. Zach had tried to keep the workings of his uncles job afloat, but there were some aspects that he had never known about. Like his promise for Takumi. It drove home the severity of his uncles condition once again.

"I'm sorry to hear about the refugee camp, that's... terrible." He lacked the words, feeling he lacked even the place to relate to Takumi. Atleast Nil was still standing. He shivered at the thought of its physical collapse.

"No don't blame yourself, I'm sure uncle intended to help with whatever he could spare it was just poor timing. No ones fault." An accumulation of poor timing, the assassination of all the other councilmen so that all responsibility fell to Zachariah, as well as his mothers death which lead to his uncle being haunted by the Lady. All just poor timing.

Very poor timing.

"Thank you Takumi. I appreciate the support, I implore you to focus on Fuji... but should the occasion arise that I find myself in need of you, I won't hesitate." He assured, "Don't be afraid to call on me either-"

Then Takumi made the remark about the weather, Zach frowned and nodded turning to Brynna beside him.

"Should we go-" He did't even manage to finish his suggestion before their was a stir in the group, he heard Leios, panic in his voice but words indescribable. Liss shouting order for everyone to get in the car, followed by some frustrated bickering with Rohan.

A lump rose in his throat, his heart rate accelerating.

"We should go to the car like Liss asked-" He took Brynna's hand and hastily yanked her to her feet. "Sorry-" He whispered. Turning round he saw Takumi crumpled over in pain, blood dripping onto the sand.

"Takumi! What's wrong?" He knelt slightly but did not let go of Brynna's hand. He could barely discern the mumblings, but the pain in his voice was piercing. Before he could be stopped though, Takumi bolted for his companion.

"Takumi wait! Get to the car!" But Zach's voice fell on deaf ears it seemed. He turned now to Brynna. "He will be okay- let's go!" He lead to her to the car.

"Apologies for being so handsy- but it's life or death." He said hurredly as he put his hands on Brynna's waist and hoisted her up into the bed of the truck before hopping in after her.

-------------------------------

Kamila fell to a stop away from the group, a palm placed upon a tree and the dune grasses tickling her thighs. She huffed a breath, trying to remember where Leios and his lady love had wandered off to. Part of her was looking to maintaining her friend Leios' privacy, but another part of her felt as if she stumbled upon them it would only further upset her. She simmered with a jealousy she found hard to define. Not for anyone person in particular, but for the couples that seemed to construct this entire social group. She had never considered herself a sap or romantic but she felt disappointed in herself for expecting some sort of miraculous development on this trip.

She just wanted to fall face first into the beach sands and let them consume her.

Then Leios' voice resounded, his panic causing her blood to rise. He appeared out of the woods close by to her, with the redhead in her arms, and she gawked at him.

"Leios what's wrong?" She shouted to him, but he was too focused on delivering his warning. She jogged in pursuit of him, trying to ascertain what was happening, but too many people seemed to be shouting, they were all suddenly up and running to the truck the others had arrived in.

Through the panic she saw Takumi running towards her, his gait seemed unsteady and facr dripped with blood. A panic and spike of anger drove through her.

"Takumi what happened?" She had left him alone for only a few moments, "Who did this?!"

Echo of Nothingness (EON III) Continuation - Page 20 Empty Re: Echo of Nothingness (EON III) Continuation

Hearing terror in Leios voice behind him, and Rohans order to get everyone to the truck, Chusins brain snapped out of its drunken state. Screaming, blood on someones face, names being called, people asking for help. This all reminded him of the previous chunk of his life, trying to find ways to help people. And now he remembered why he left, being a hero wasn't the life for him. Still, he had to do something. Now thinking clearly, he found himself more than shocked at the strength of the storm overhead. It had seemed overbearing before, but now it was immense.

Running into the house, he spotted someone flying through, who had knocked open all the doors. It really was a nice house, it was roomy and felt comfortable even in this terror. He had to wonder who these guys were if they could afford such nice houses everywhere. But there wasn't time for that. Going through the house, he spotted two people sitting down still, examining a cute shell bracelet. "You can't stay here, somethings coming! The guy with the truck wants everyone in it, come on! If you need help I can." Something heavy fell into his gut, the group was pretty large from what he remembered earlier. Not everyone was accounted for yet. Whatever was coming, people might get caught in it. Would it stop here?

With that thought, Chusins mind raced to his fathers house. Legs seizing up, he ran it through his head. No matter how fast he moved, it'd take him a while to reach the house, maybe an hour. Would he be safe in the storm? There'd definitely be people to help him out, even if he was getting old he wasn't immobile. Turning away from the duo and making it to some stairs, Chusin slipped for a moment. Staying with these people was probably the safest bet, but where would they go once this was over?

Echo of Nothingness (EON III) Continuation - Page 20 Empty Re: Echo of Nothingness (EON III) Continuation

Sat Apr 27, 2019 11:07 pm
Rohan has really matured the last year. It was almost startling to Lissandra, despite the fact that she’d been there to witness it take place bit by bit. Not only did he remain completely calm when she slapped him, but he almost managed to keep his temper in check when the new guy shocked him. Noticing each instance when he showed personally growth only made her want to be with him more... But such thoughts would have to wait. Right now they were in the middle of a crisis, and to be brutally honest their relationship seemed to be in no better shape. If they even technically had one. Though her frantic breath began to calm as his hands gently cupped her cheeks, and he wiped her tears away. He trusted her... With his life? She hadn’t expected him to say something like that. It approved how close they’d gotten, which in the end only ended up upsetting her more. What did it matter anymore? If they did escape here in time he’d just go back to Sahara. She knew him too well to believe that wasn’t what he was planning. Sahara didn’t just start the change within Rohan, she was the reason for it. Every time they broke up, he fell apart. Now that she was back, he’d crumble all over again. And just when she thought he was finally doing better. Choosing to change for his future, rather than someone else’s. Though perhaps that was still the case. Taking in a deep breath as he told her that he cared, Liss slowly nodded after he promised that they’d talk. They really needed too. Though for now it was best to focus back in on their current life threatening situation. “Alright.” She whispered before accepting his hand, and sprinting with him to the car. Once they reached it she swiftly climbed in, and the two returned to the beach house. Visibly relaxing as he invited Leios and Natsumi to sit with them inside the vehicle, the young woman slowly shook her head in response to his question. “I don’t actually know what’s coming either... Do you Leios?” She questioned softly, clearly already exhausted from the day’s stress. When they got away from whatever was chasing them, she wanted to sleep. Preferably for the rest of her life.

Echo of Nothingness (EON III) Continuation - Page 20 Empty Re: Echo of Nothingness (EON III) Continuation

Sun Apr 28, 2019 12:43 pm
Zachariah halted at the top of the stairs, a grand stone staircase that descended into the polished mosaic floor of the foyer below. He took in the sight of the strangers to his house, poised against the heavy oak front door. The smaller woman, with the dark skin spoke softly to the man and though he could not hear a word the essence of a chastisement seemed to radiate from them. The taller woman caught Zachariah's gaze and hushed her companions.

"Don't bicker in the presence of our gracious host." She said, offering a smile upwardly to Zachariah. "Councilman Fahlih, it's a pleasure to finally meet you." She bowed to him as he began his descent down the stairs. The two echoed her formalities and Zachariah waved his hand dismissively.

"Spare me the formalities in my own home if you will. Ordinary introductions will do just fine." The click of his cane resounded in the room.

"Thank you Councilman-" She began.

"-Zachariah is fine."

"I'd rather keep this somewhat formal. This is not a social call after all." Zachariah nodded.

"I see. As you wish." With that he finally reached the bottom of the stairs and got a better look at his visitors.

They dressed in uniform, or something resembling it. A coat of earthen tan, embroidered upon the collar and lapels with a beaded pattern. Each wore the coat differently upon closer inspection. The man wore it open, over a linen shirt that was also opened, revealing his chest. The smaller woman wore her clasped almost all the way to her throat, the collar standing crisply and the lapels folded precisely. The taller woman came somewhere in between, her lapels and collar folded down and her linen shirt buttoned modestly. The collar of her undershirt was clasped with a bronze brooch, the relief seeming to be a distorted face. The hallowed eyes and snaring smile on the face filled him with a discomfort he found hard to filter from his demeanor.

"Well come in, come in. This way." He turned and lead them down the hall a ways, turning left into a meeting room that he used to conduct business. It had a broad window with a good view of the garden, dimly lit with the evening lanterns. A lavish circular table, made of polished stone sat in the center of the room and the walls were encrusted with glass mosaics from floor and covered the ceiling, telling the story of the Grand Magic War and the founding of Ryujin.

Zachariah took a seat and looked onto his guests, the man took a seat, slouched and the woman beside him. But the smaller one was caught in the mosaic, eyes wide and tracing the images. Zachariah smiled, for a moment he'd thought she was a grown adult, but now seeing the wonder in her eyes, he guessed she was no older than his nephew, maybe even younger.

"Fascinating isn't it?" Zachariah said with a smile.

Alas the girl was still trapped in the visuals.

"Midge." The woman spoke softly and the girl snapped to attention.

"Oh! Me- oh apologies- um yes it's quite- beautiful Councilman Fahlih." Midge stuttered and then quickly to a seat beside the woman. Zachariah chuckled at her bashfulness.

"No no it's quite alright." His own eyes traced the mosaic in the ceiling, which depicted a night sky. A night sky from the surface. "I used to do the same when I was young, I would study the mosaic for hours, wondering what it could tell me that the books did not. It's as old as this house, built when Ryujin it's self was built..." He trailed off. Midge followed his gaze also looking up in awe. "But alas, as much as I'd love to prattle on, I should allow yourselves to introduce yourselves."

The woman nods. She places a hand on her chest.

"I am Hettoria Rubis, leader of the Solutudius these are my attendants, Raphael," She gestures to the man, "and Midge.", she gestures in turn to the girl. Zachariah's eyebrow raises.

"The Solutudius... apologies for my ignorance, I've been shut away for many months, I'm... not familiar with you." Hettoria smiles and nods.

"That is only fair, we are a fairly new faction and the political turmoil hasn't really helped our cause gain recognition." She sighed, "Truly a tragedy, to have the entirety of Nil on your shoulders. My sympathies for the loss of your fellow councilmen."

Zachariah sombered.

"It's more of, weighing on my toes if I'm being honest." He said shortly. "But thank you for your sympathies none the less."

Hettoria nodded understandingly.

"So what is it that you have come to me for?" Zach inquired, glancing at the man, Raphael, who was fiddling with the lapel of his jacket.

"We are extending a hand to you Councilman Fahlih." Hettoria explained. "We have heard whisperings. Rumors may be just but rumors can just as easily be truths in the minds of the masses, as I'm sure you know."

Zachariah's gaze hardened, "What is it that you have heard?"

"There have been attempts on your life." Hettoria said, concern in her voice.

"And? What are you that my life is your business?" Zachariah replied.

"The Solutudius is a religious sect." Hettoria said tentatively, "Dedicating to re-establishing traditional Nilian worship. We're historians more than anything, we collect information, texts, scrolls, accounts anything we can to remember what Nil was, what she has become, and what brought us here." She touches her brooch. "We fear the cultural repercussions of your death. Civil war is inevitable if the entirety of the council is abolished, the separate cities will fight for dominance and independence in kind."

"The whole place will literally and metaphorically collapse." Rapheal muttered, his gaze focused on one of his curls, before blowing it out of his face. Midge glared daggers into him.

"Yes. Astutely put Raphael." Hettoria said, if a bit sharply. Zachariah nodded, given the current situation of things, the vision Hettoria depicted wasn't a hard one to see. "Some people fear you are going to become a tyrant."

Zachariah frowned.

"If anyone can it's you. There is no denying that Zachariah."

"I don't know what rumors you have heard but I assure you I have no intention of that."

"You're intention does not matter to them. They only see what you are capable of."

"You cannot deny that King Zachariah has a ring to it." Raphael chimed in again, "Or better yet, Emperor Zachariah!"

Zachariah glared at the man. Hettoria continued.

"As long as you are in this unique position, you are the keystone in the arch that is Nil. We, as preservers of Nil, cannot allow any harm to befall you."

"Miss Hettoria, what is it that you are offering?"

"I am offering that, until the new council is established and the power void is filled, that we shall protect you."

Echo of Nothingness (EON III) Continuation - Page 20 Empty Re: Echo of Nothingness (EON III) Continuation

[Yuu]
Looking back at Mina, he was about to respond but got stuck on her query of his well-being, an unsure smile as he looked down at his right arm. The strange numbing sting, and shakiness was still there. "I'm..." he began slowly, a sudden sensation of heat tearing into him "I'm not sure, and besides that isn't a problem right now! We gotta get everyone to safety!" Reaching the truck, Yuu offered Mina a hand in getting into the back before he followed after. Standing in the back he started calling for everyone so they knew where to find them, "We're not dying here! Not yet, so hurry up everyone!"

[Takumi]
Reaching Kamilla, Takumi held his head in pain as he grabbed hold of her for support. "Good, we need to leave now-" Takumi took a moment to take things in, giving her a puzzled look before running a hand down his face, "Did what to me? I'm fine-" Takumi froze as he looked down at his hand, covered in his blood that had been dripping from his nose. His heart sunk as he looked down at the scarlet gleam, memories of the same scenes flooding in, but this time not just his own blood. "...Truck" He muttered out weakly, seemingly more blood running down his nose and a new trail coming from his obscured left eye, "We need to leave NOW!" He very shakily began tugging at Kamilla, a look of shame and anger crossing him as he held a hand over his nose, urging Kamilla to help him walk.

Echo of Nothingness (EON III) Continuation - Page 20 Empty Re: Echo of Nothingness (EON III) Continuation

Chaotic could not even begin to describe the situation but for once everyone was thoroughly disturbed. Leios had helped Orion warn them but suddenly everybody had questions for him too, questions he didn't really have answers for. But he was somewhat reassured by how quickly they were taking action, he thought he'd have to convince them or at the very least Rohan. He did give some pushback at the beginning but it wasn't the same as usual, it seemed even Rohan could feel the danger approaching them. Lissandra slapping Rohan might have had something to do with it too and Leios was appreciative of that.

The next few minutes were a blur as he tried to explain to the others still within earshot of what he knew. Responding to Rohan and Liss's questions he said, "I don't know who we're running from. I don't know if running will even spare us, but I think it has something to do with Fuji. We need to figure this out later, not now."

"We really don't have much time, let's go." Natsumi still seemed kind of dazed so he picked her up again and jogged to the car. On the way there he saw Takumi kneeled over a little ways away from the group, closer to the forest, with blood dripping profusely from his face and Kamila questioning the pink haired friend in her usual demanding manner but with what he thought was a slight hint of desperation. Leios almost stopped to join Kamila's worrying, but thought better of it and instead placed Natsumi in the front seat of the car. "I'll be right back," he told her before sprinting back towards Kamila and Takumi. He grabbed their shoulders and told them, "We have to leave, we'll look over Takumi once we're not in immediate danger.

Once he had guided his friends to the car too he turned to Rohan, "Rohan, can you make sure everyone is here, I'll work with Lissandra to shadow-port the car. We'll need enough time to draw the runes. We'll finish in time, I promise."

Echo of Nothingness (EON III) Continuation - Page 20 Empty Re: Echo of Nothingness (EON III) Continuation

Natsumi waited with Leios while Liss and Rohan went to get the car, though it took a bit longer than planned. While she couldn’t hear what was going on, she couldn’t help but wince as Liss slapped her brother. That had to hurt. Shortly after that he seemed to come too, and the two continued on. Maybe slapping him had been the best course of action then? Either way, now wasn’t really the time to dwell on that. They all had to get out of here, then they could figure things out.
Once they did in fact make it to safety, everyone would need figure things out. Be it relationship statuses, minor discrepancies, or their impending doom. Something told her there’d be a lot for them to work out.
Blinking a few times as Leios suddenly picked her up, Natsumi’s complexion began to flush as she realized the car was already there. She really needed to stop panicking. As he tucked her safely inside the vehicle, her expression changed to one of concern. Despite it not being an option, she really didn’t want him to leave the car. However if he didn’t, they wouldn’t be able to shadow travel. Perhaps it was his words that set her on edge. ‘I’ll be right back.’ It was a pretty common phrase, but with it carried a hinge of uncertainty. That this might be the last time you get to see them. “Please be careful.” She whispered softly once he’d ran away, the pent up stress finally reducing her to tears.
Watching him run to recover his friends almost felt like the world had begun to move slowly.
However, sure enough, Leios managed to escort the couple to the trunk. Glancing back as they climbed in, she was relieved to find the other’s were already in as well. Zach... Seemed as well as he could be. Yuu seemed alright as well. The two new girl’s sat beside them, along with everyone else save-. “Air guy...” Muttering under her breath as he turned the corner, Umi’s gaze carried a newfound sense of hope as the young man insured everyone was safe.
As Leios called out for both his sister’s and her brother’s aid, her breath seemed to calm. They were going to make it. “Don’t worry, everyone’s here.” Gently reaching up to place a hand on her brother’s shoulder, the redhead forced a supportive smile. They had to make it out of here alive. For everyone they loved.
***
“On it!” Swiftly climbing out of the car as her brother requested, Lissandra briefly paused to offer Rohan a weak smile. They’d figure things out later. She couldn’t think about him right now. Taking in a deep breath, the young woman set to work. Most of her free time was spent memorizing and perfecting runes, when she wasn’t training by other means. She knew Leios also made time for his rune studies, so she was fairly confident that they could finish before the storm reached them. They still seemed to have a few minutes.
As the two raced around the car, sketching runes in the sand, she glanced to her stomach. Her personal finishing tune for this spell. Under normal circumstances, it saved her a lot of time. However, she didn’t want to risk it causing them any sort of problem. For instance, it working for her, Leios, and the car, but leaving everyone else behind. The rule of thumb was that the only true certainty was that it’d allow her to take the things she was touching with her... That was a chance they didn’t have the luxury of taking.
“Finish the ones surrounding the car, I’ll work on the focus point!” She called out to Leios, before running to the hood of the car. Adrenaline surging through her with every step. “Sorry Rohan!” Calling out as her hands lit the night sky with flames, Liss began to burn the needed rune into the hood. This was one rune she knew like the back of her hand. That being said, it was still something that would take some time.
“Done!” When she’d finally finished lightning had filled the sky above them, and the sea seemed to roar. Immediately a wind barrier surrounded the car, thanks to Orion. “Get in the car!” He yelled over the roaring wind tunnel, as a outline of a woman broke through the trees. “Leios!” Outstretching her hand to him as she touch the car, Liss managed to yell once more as the sea surged in land and lighting surged through it. Hopefully he’d finished his end. “Nil!”
And with that they sunk into the darkness.

Echo of Nothingness (EON III) Continuation - Page 20 Empty Re: Echo of Nothingness (EON III) Continuation

Kamila fussed over Takumi, her eyesbrows in a hard knot as he managed to get his words together. But in a whirl Leios' voice overwhelmed Takumi's and a she was sudddenly being herded towards the truck the larger portion of the group had arrived in. It all happened to quickly to ask questions, so she jumped into the truck without much noise. But as soon as they were situated she resumed her fussing.

The others still yelled around her, Leios and his sister shouted about glyphs and their was an air of panic all about the back of the truck. Kamila's heart was in her throat, confusion taking over. With shaky hands she inspected Takumi, but she could only do it a moment.

"Are you sure you are-" She began. Then the name of the destination was announced.

Kamila cursed loudly as they plunged into darkness.

-----------------------

Zach had a firm grip on Brynna. Maybe to firm, he muttered another apology under his breath as they settled themselves in the back of the truck. But his protective grip on her did not halt. He wrapped a secure arm around her shoulder, intending to keep her in place should the ride get bumpy.

And it seemed it would. Leios and Liss began their transportation preparations and his stomach turned, remember the last time he had forgone the same venture. Despite his queasiness he attempted to comfort Brynna.

"It's going to be okay, don't freak out it's just going to get a little dark."

With that Liss' voice echoed over the panic. Their destination. Zach couldn't help but feel a weightless relief as the darkness washed over them.

-------------------------

The sun was setting in Nil. A pink glow washing over the bed rock sculptures of the Eastern Gate. The relief of the giant Nilian sand worm writhed in it's permanent battle pose, Nilian soldiers positioned at their watch points through out the sculpture.

Captain Zoran was among them, the burly darkskinned man yawned in the setting sun and scratched his close shaven head. The dunes softly rumbled and the man gave a lazy frown.

"Captain! Captain! We got an incoming worm!" A soldier shouted, piercing the cooling desert air.

"Where is it?" Zoran shouted, bouncing to alertness.

"The courtyard sir, ten o'clock!"

Zoran cursed. A well of sand formed in the center of the courtyard, small but growing.

"Converge on the breaching point! We have to catch her as soon as we see her pearly whites!" Zoran shouted. Members of his guard shouted in confirmation. Those atop the sculpture poised, spears of sand in their grasps. Those below assumed position, shields up, armed with spears of solid metal.

"Wait until you can see the fragile maw!" Zoran shouted. His guardsmen froze, having encircled the well of sand. But whispers began erupting as what seemed to be a dark liquid rose from the sands. The soldiers lowered their shields and peered at it. One leaned in, poking at it with his spear. With the the liquid expanded rapidly and the soldiers ran, screaming all the way. Some stalwart individuals stayed, trying to salvage their formation as the pool fluctuated.

But from it there was no Nilian worm or any other creature of the sands. A truck burst from the pool, sending a spray of sand across the courtyard. Zoran blinked, surprised.

"Who goes there!" He boomed across the courtyard.

-------------------------

In the back of the truck Zachariah's mind swayed but his body remained still. The ocean breeze had been replaced with a stagnant desert heat. Though he could not feel the familiar and harsh sun. He blinked in the pink setting sun. The welcoming sight of the Eastern Gate overtook him. But he panicked quickly, noting the guardsmen, pointing their spears at the group.

Hus cousin's voice boomed through the courtyard and Zach let go of Brynna, standing in the back of the truck he waved up at his cousin.

"Cousin Zoran! It's me, Zachariah!"

"Cousin Zachariah!" The man's voice boomed excitedly. "Stand down! This man's family!"

The soldiers eased, some making fun of the peers for fleeing cowardly, others looking closely at the people in the truck out of curiosity but maintaining their distance.

Zoran lept from the sculpture, summoning the sands midair to catch him. He then used them to propel himself forward, reaching the group swiftly.

"Cousin Zachariah! And Cousin Leios! Friend Natsumi! It's so good too see you all..." He took in the truck, filled to the brim with people. "... and all your friends."

Echo of Nothingness (EON III) Continuation - Page 20 Empty Re: Echo of Nothingness (EON III) Continuation

Iggys day has been all over the place. Ups and downs... well mainly downs so far but this has been the highlight of his day. He wasn’t expecting much from giving Cassidy the bracelet, maybe a thank you but the kiss on her hand then on his cheeks had him blushing madly “I-I’m g-glad y-y-y-you like i-it” he placed his hand over his cheek and melted down on the chair, but all of this happiness was over as soon as some dude suddenly appeared yelling that they should get out of here. He did look pretty beaten so maybe their was some type of danger. He peeked out the window and saw Rohan pulling up with the truck and the people outside jumping in. He then quietly reached for Sahara and Cassidy’s hands “let’s go, I’ll keep you guys safe!” He said as he lead the way to the truck outside “what’s going? You know what... I’m not gonna ask questions. Danger seems to be a common thing among you guys” quickly hoping on truck and extend his hands to help Sahara and Cassidy.

Rohan watched Liss and leios put some of their rune things around the truck not really catching on what they were doing. That tune stuff was always confusing to him “do what you have to do” he replied to Liss as she placed the last rune on the truck “is everyone here?” He noticed Iggy, Sahara, and Cassidy made through the rear view mirror. Taking a moment to look at them, Iggy was pretty red for some reason, he didn’t notice anything unusual from Cassidy, and Sahara seemed to still be effected by the wine “so how does this work?” He asked as the truck sunk into darkness, then they somehow got to nil. Not Rohan’s favorite place, he did spend a lot of time in nil during the past year but the coastal area... he wasn’t a fan of all the other sandy stuff “great. We’re here.” He mention while getting out the car “where exactly are we?”

As Zach wrapped his arm around her and began to run, Brynna’s world seemed to freeze. It became harder to breath, to think. Not because he’d touched her, like he apparently seemed to believe, but because of the atmosphere. It felt heavy. Almost as if it were weighing on her shoulders. A pressure which only became stronger the closer the storm came. If it weren’t for his efforts, there was no doubt in her mind that she would’ve stayed there. Her fear cementing her in place, as whatever approaching danger finished her off.
Though such was not her fate. At least not yet.
Apparently she would have to face fading into a haunting darkness however. One that was both terrifying, and filled with actually pressure. Despite Zach’s attempt to comfort her, Brynna was left in something of a panic attack as she seemed to lose her mass itself.
Gasping as they suddenly erupted through the familiar Nilian sand, the young woman focused on swiftly regulating her heart. That would be her first and last shadow traveling experience. To be honest, she didn’t think her heart could take it a second time. Thankfully it wouldn’t be needed, she was home. Well, not far from it. Though after Zach released her, and rushed to stop the border patrol, she remembered that being back wasn’t necessarily a good thing.
On one hand she truly did want to help Zachariah, but on the other she was terrified of being caught. If someone recognized her they’d take her back home, where she’d be locked away once again.
Then she couldn’t help anyone.
So she did the only thing she could think to in this situation. Hid in the truck’s bed.

Sahara could feel her stomach twisting into knots as Iggy presented Cassidy with the beautiful bracelet... And then dropping as she kissed his cheek in return. It wasn’t that she wasn’t happy for them, or supportive of their relationship. In fact, she’d been waiting a long time to see them get together. They were a good match, who seemed to naturally complete each other. However watching them starting to make progress only reminded her of Rohan. Once about a time she believed that they also completed each other. Yet here she was, drunk and alone. It nearly brought her to tears. She wanted recognition, or a gift of some sort. Anything would do, as long as it was for her, and her alone. Even if he embarrassed her in front of her whole town, she’d accept it. Because all she wanted was his undivided love and attention.
To make things work.
Though he didn’t have much of a reason to try, and make things work with her again. Not when things were clearly going well for he and Liss. She hadn’t seen them that comfortable with each other in her whole time of knowing them. They’d built a bond, that was now strong enough to withstand her efforts to win him back. Or so she thought.
Stumbling forward as someone began yelling, and Iggy grabbed her wrist, Sahara found herself back in the truck before processing what happened. They were leaving? Running away from a threat... Who? Why were they attacking? Tears began to swell within the corner of her sapphire eyes. Iggy was in charge of her safety? That wasn’t right, she was older! Therefore she should be protecting him! Opening her mouth to protest, Sahara found herself silenced as she sunk into darkness.
Originally assuming she’d passed out.
However, upon reappear a short time later in the desert, she began to slowly relax. “Oh... They were just taking me home...” She muttered under her breath, while stumbling out of the truck and falling into the sand. It must’ve been because of the weather. That storm had been crazy! “Wait, where are we?” She asked no one in particular through a hiccup. Never even attempting to stand back up as Zach dealt with the people blocking their path. Who were they? Running her fingers through the sand in somewhat of a trance, Sahara finally passed out. She knew Nilian sand when she saw it. Even if she wasn’t in Lilac Town, she was definitely in her home country. She could get back after a short, much needed, nap. It was still getting dark out, and he was wasted.
